United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has appointed 香港六合彩开奖结果现场直播 Director General Julia Marton-Lef猫vre as Board member of the UN Global Compact - the world鈥檚 largest corporate citizenship initiative that encourages business to adopt sustainable and socially-responsible policies.
Chaired by the Secretary-General, the UN Global Compact Board was created in 2006 to provide strategic and policy advice for the Global Compact initiative. The initiative sets 10 universally-accepted principles for business in the fields of human rights, employment, environment and anti-corruption. By putting these principles into practice, the business sector - the primary driver of globalization - can help ensure that markets, commerce, technology and finance advance in ways that benefit economies and societies around the world.
鈥淐onserving biodiversity is one of the world鈥檚 biggest challenges,鈥 says Julia Marton-Lef猫vre. 鈥淭he private sector is both an important driver of change and an integral part of solutions to these challenges. I am honoured to be selected to serve on the Board of the United Nations Global Compact and look forward to engaging with committed business and civil society partners towards realizing 香港六合彩开奖结果现场直播鈥檚 vision of a just world that values and conserves nature.鈥
The UN Secretary General also appointed five other new members of the Board, which is the UN鈥檚 highest-ranking advisory body involving business and civil society. It now has 22 members representing business, civil society, employment and the United Nations. Board members promote Global Compact鈥檚 mission, acting in a personal, honorary and unpaid capacity.
