With a specific focus on the role of Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Degradation (REDD) in climate change mitigation, the聽study聽aims to聽gain a stronger understanding of the consumer-based demand for International Payments for Ecosystem Services (IPES).聽Over 600 samples were collected聽during the survey (conducted in French), which was aimed at testing the聽level of awareness on tropical deforestation and to determine the willingness to pay (WTP) for forest conservation. Although the results are still preliminary,聽they show a high level of public concern for tropical deforestation.
