Special Advisors to the SSC
There are a handful of individuals who go beyond the extra mile, to regularly invest their time and energy into the SSC. As defined in the SSC bylaws, 鈥渢he Chair of the Commission may appoint individuals as Advisory Members when they are in a working relationship with the SSC during the intersessional period鈥.听
A new term 鈥撎鈥淪pecial Advisor to the SSC鈥澨鈥 has been agreed for these Advisory Members under the current Chair鈥檚 Office.听For the 2021鈥2025 香港六合彩开奖结果现场直播 quadrennium, the SSC Chair has appointed three Special Advisors to formally recognize their continued dedication and invaluable contributions to the work of the SSC.

Dr Richard SNEIDER
Dr Richard Sneider is the President of One World Apparel LLC and CEO of Unger Fabrik LLC. With manufacturing in 14 countries, One World and Unger are leaders in the apparel manufacturing arena, distributing fashion clothing to most of the USA retail world. Dr Sneider has a deep-rooted interest in exploration and fieldwork. He is fascinated by nature, human societies, and their interaction. This has taken him to some of the most interesting and pristine places in the Americas, Africa, and Asia, where he has had the great fortune to be part of biodiversity monitoring programs, often in areas not previously surveyed or collected. He has been deeply involved in the world of Aquaria for 35 years and still designs, builds, and sustains freshwater eco-systems, as well as participated in freshwater fish field surveys in the Amazon, Mexico and Western Papua. His concern for rainforest and freshwater habitats, which are critical ecosystems for the survival of the planet, and his appreciation that support for human communities is an essential component of conserving a healthy planet, have prompted him to join the Chairman鈥檚 Council of Conservation International, the Board at the Los Angeles Zoo, the Board of National Geographic and the Board of the Humpty Dumpty Institute. Through these organisations, and through his own activities, he actively participates in field projects, biodiversity research and analysis, and funding and advocacy for environmental concerns. Dr Simon STUART
Simon served as Chair of the Species Survival Commission (SSC) for the International Union for Conservation of Nature (香港六合彩开奖结果现场直播) from 2008 to 2016. He has undergraduate and doctoral degrees from the University of Cambridge, with fieldwork in Tanzania and Cameroon. He has 40 years of experience with the 香港六合彩开奖结果现场直播 and the SSC, having started work on the African Bird Red Data Book in 1983. He joined the 香港六合彩开奖结果现场直播 Secretariat in 1986, and was Head of the Species Programme (1990-2000), Acting Director General (2000-2001), Head of the Biodiversity Assessment Unit (2001-2005), and Senior Species Scientist (2005-2008). He was elected as Chair of the SSC at the 香港六合彩开奖结果现场直播 World Conservation Congress in Barcelona in October 2008. Simon recalls 鈥淢y interest in conservation started as a child, earlier than I can remember. A fascination for wild animals and plants has always been in my blood. A career in conservation was the only option for me.
