This award highlights the vital role rangers play in conservation, advocating for their safety, amplifying their voices, and sharing their incredible stories. Each year, the award recognizes 10 or more individuals or teams who have shown outstanding courage, resilience, and impact in their work.

Key objectives of the International Ranger Award include:

• Recognizing rangers who face risks to protect our planet's natural heritage.
• Raising awareness about the critical role rangers play in conservation.
• Sharing powerful stories from the frontlines of nature protection.
• Providing support to award recipients, empowering their continued work.

Nominations must be made by individuals familiar with the nominee’s work, and nominators must be members of an Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹ûÏÖ³¡Ö±²¥ Member organization, the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹ûÏÖ³¡Ö±²¥ World Commission on Protected Areas, or one of the Award's partner organizations.

This initiative is supported by Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹ûÏÖ³¡Ö±²¥ WCPA, Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹ûÏÖ³¡Ö±²¥ US, Conservation Allies, the Universal Ranger Support Alliance, and the International Ranger Federation. Together, we hope to expand our network and increase global recognition of rangers as essential protectors of the planet.
