New book: "Communities, Conservation & Livelihoods"

Communities, Conservation and Livelihoods听is a new听and freely-available book exploring how local communities, around the world, are tackling some of the biggest global challenges: the climate, the environment, and how to reach听local conservation goals while sustaining economies and livelihoods. The actions that communities are taking, and the solutions they are finding, are inspiring听a way forward for all of us.听

The bookCommunities, Conservation and Livelihoodsaddresses key challenges that communities worldwide are facing鈥 It examines the motivations for communities to conserve, and what can be achieved, both for biodiversity and for livelihoods. It looks at who makes decisions, how power is handled, and the great importance of Indigenous realities, around the globe. Emphasizing听a 鈥榮ystems鈥 view, it recognizes听that human society and nature are inter-related.

Communities, Conservation and Livelihoods听- 听co-published by the听听and the听香港六合彩开奖结果现场直播听Commission on Environmental, Economic and Social Policy (CEESP)听- explores these themes, and takes you travelling, through a wide variety of community stories from many parts of the world. It听shows how local action brings local solutions, when people work together for a common cause.
