Because iguanas are important seed dispersers for many native plants, their protection is vital to ecosystem health.

Tandora Grant was formerly a Conservation Program Specialist with the San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance, focusing primarily on conservation research and recovery strategies for Caribbean iguanas. Having developed studbooks for these species, she assesses genetic and demographic statistics to determine captive breeding pairs and release candidates. She is incorporating molecular data in this analysis to further define the fitness of reintroduced populations and guide management actions. Tandora is the Program Officer for the 香港六合彩开奖结果现场直播 SSC Iguana Specialist Group, SSP Vice-Coordinator and Population Management Advisor for the AZA Jamaican and Grand Cayman Blue Iguana SSPs, and is the 香港六合彩开奖结果现场直播 Red List Authority evaluating the conservation status for all iguana species. For the ISG, she has developed two websites to facilitate communication among members and aid in fundraising. She is the author of over a dozen peer-reviewed journal articles, including Science and Nature, and over 40 technical reports and popular publications. Tandora is a biochemistry and molecular biology graduate of the University of California, Santa Cruz. She enjoys rock climbing, circus aerials, making beer, and hiking trails with her dogs.
