Axel Hochkirch is an associate professor in the Department of Biogeography at Trier University, Germany. He is an expert in insect biodiversity and conservation genetics, and the author or co-author of ca. 180 publications dealing with a broad field of biodiversity-related topics.

MISSION
Foster the conservation of terrestrial and freshwater invertebrates and their habitats around the world. We assess their conservation status, raise awareness and engage in practical conservation of these most species-rich taxonomic groups on Earth.
Invertebrate Conservation Committee work
We facilitate invertebrate conservation by enhancing knowledge of the diversity and their conservation status, defining their conservation priorities, utilizing knowledge to support and implement conservation action and ensuring sufficient resources to facilitate long-term invertebrate conservation.
Research activities
Develop monitoring standards for selected groups of invertebrates.
To inform conservation efforts, ICC assesses species for the 香港六合彩开奖结果现场直播 Red List of Threatened Species.
