Dr Luis Santiago CANO ALONSO
My professional career is developed in both International Cooperation and development and Conservation Biology sectors. I have performed many surveys, environmental impact assessments, strategic plans and short and long terms action plans in national and international conservation projects, as well as many census of threatened species. My last works have been focused on management of both international projects and programmes about conservation and sustainable development. I am interested in opening line of works to, from the Conservation Biology framework, contribute to the sustainable development and improve the livelihood of rural communities within natural areas in developing countries. My PhD Thesis was about Biology and Conservation of the Iberian Black Stork population (Ciconia nigra), with references to black stork conservation in the Sahel region. The PhD was held at Complutense University of Madrid.
