Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹ûÏÖ³¡Ö±²¥ started operating in the country in 1988 with the establishment of the Country Office in Colombo, under a Memorandum of Agreement signed with the Ministry of Land and Land Development. TheÌýÏã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹ûÏÖ³¡Ö±²¥ Sri Lanka National Governing Committee is comprised of government and non-government members.Ìý

Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹ûÏÖ³¡Ö±²¥ Sri Lanka’s programmes support sustainable natural resource management initiatives of Members and partners. These programmes cover conservation and management of critical habitats, policy/legal and institutional support and environmental education and awareness. Work is focused on the following key thematic areas: biodiversity, business finance and economics, climate change, freshwater and water security, governance – law and rights, Nature-based Solutions, ocean and coasts, protected areas and land use.Ìý
