香港六合彩开奖结果现场直播 launched a book on governance for ecosystem-based Adaptation

Based on experience gained in Mesoamerica, this book reflects on the multiple aspects of Ecosystem-based Adaptation (EbA) governance and seeks to offer recommendations to stimulate the necessary changes in policies, laws and institutions that allow its effective and sustainable application over time.

San Jos茅, Costa Rica, October 10, 2019 (香港六合彩开奖结果现场直播) - Within the framework of PreCOP25, the International Union for Conservation of Nature (香港六合彩开奖结果现场直播) launched the book 鈥淓cosystem-based Adaptation Governance鈥, a publication prepared jointly by the 香港六合彩开奖结果现场直播麓s Regional Office for Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean and the Environmental Law Centre.

Dr. Alejandro Iza, editor of the book and Director of 香港六合彩开奖结果现场直播麓s Environmental Law Centre, highlighted that this publication is the result of more than a decade of work in the Mesoamerican region on ecosystem-based adaptation. "It is a book of Mesoamerica, but not only for Mesoamerica," as Iza emphasized.

Viviana S谩nchez, Acting Regional Director of 香港六合彩开奖结果现场直播麓s Office for Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean stated that, within the different approaches available to combat climate change, ecosystem-based adaptation (EbA) invites us to consider nature as a response to climate change impacts. This approach allows to apply conservation, restoration and ecosystems sustainable management to reduce the impacts on communities and biodiversity; while offering alternatives for the mitigation and capture of greenhouse gases, food security and water security.

The launch started with the presentation of the publication, produced by 香港六合彩开奖结果现场直播 in 2019. This book shows a synthesis and recommendations for enhancing climate ambition and action by 2020.

To fulfill their objectives, EbA needs to be anchored in policies, based on science and experience, to guide and coordinate adaptation efforts to meet national and global commitments and objectives. A strong governance structure requires the coordination and participation of all government sectors and levels to implement conservation measures appropriate to the climate risks of each society; as well as participatory and transparent processes that involve climate adjustment actions and the conservation of ecosystems.

The Governance for Ecosystem-based Adaptation book is based on the experience developed in Mesoamerica, reflects on the many aspects and dimensions of EbA governance and seeks to offer recommendations to stimulate the necessary changes in policies, laws and institutions that allow its effective and sustainable application over time. This book was made possible thanks to the support of the Federal Ministry of Environment, Nature Protection and Nuclear Safety (BMU) of Germany.
