Luxembourg was the first seed donor of the Blue Natural Capital Financing Facility (BNCFF), which has supported a wide variety of marine and coastal conservation projects with a high climate impact on their path to becoming sustainable, climate resilient Blue Natural Capital businesses that are appealing to private investors.

The Facility helps takes blended finance for Nature-based Solutions to scale by supporting innovative entrepreneurs in the sustainable ocean-based economy in attracting new, private capital. Funded activities range from sustainable aquaculture and seaweed farming, community-based ecotourism and ecosystem restoration and conservation efforts.
