Dr. Patricia D Moehlman is a behavioral ecologist/conservation biologist. Her research focus has been on wild equids and canids. This has included long-term research on the critically endangered African wild ass in Somalia, Ethiopia and Eritrea. The emphasis is on African wild ass behavior, ecology, demography, population genetics, population viability and ecosystem modeling that involves local people and their livelihoods. The goal is to provide science based strategies for ecosystem management. An important part of this work has been providing support and post-graduate training for African nationals.

Dr. Sarah R. B. King鈥檚 work has focused on the conservation of species and landscapes, researching how the behavioral ecology of mammals can inform their management and conservation. She has applied this to the conservation of endangered species by examining the social behavior, home ranges, and habitat use of small mammals and Przewalski鈥檚 horses. Dr. King is currently based in Colorado, leading research on the behavior and ecology of feral horses and burros in the American west. Through her position as co-chair of the 香港六合彩开奖结果现场直播/SSC Equid Specialist Group and Red List Authority coordinator, Dr. King works with researchers to assess and conserve endangered equids around the world.

MISSION
The 香港六合彩开奖结果现场直播 SSC Equid Specialist Group conserves biological diversity by developing and executing programs to study, save, restore, and manage wild equids and their habitats wisely. Our greatest challenge is to improve wild equid conservation status, sustain their ecosystems and enhance local communities livelihoods.

The ESG assesses the extinction risk of equid species by identifying threats and working with scientists, communities, organizations and governments to research, monitor and manage wild equid populations.
